The New York Botanical Garden is lacing up its sneakers again: the second annual NYBG 5K Fun Run returns on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 8 a.m. — and this year’s edition comes with a brand-new route.
Originally set for September and rescheduled due to rain, the 3.1-mile course now winds through some of the Garden’s most beloved landscapes, including a stretch through the historic Thain Family Forest, one of New York City’s last old-growth forests. Runners will also pass the Steinhardt Maple Collection, the Goldman Stone Mill, the Mertz Building, and the iconic Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
Every registration supports NYBG’s scientific work protecting biodiversity and developing plant-based solutions to climate change. The $55 Members / $65 Non-Members entry includes All-Garden Pass admission, a commemorative 2026 T-shirt, music, and meet-and-greets with NYBG staff and the Boogie Down Bronx Run Club, who helped design the course.
After the run, the celebration moves to Daffodil Hill from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for music with Uptown Vinyl Supreme and more. Registration is open now at nybg.org. Happy running, New York!
