Nashville’s beloved Cheekwood Estate & Gardens is turning fall craft season into hands-on fun. This Saturday, October 10 at 2 PM, the nonprofit botanical garden invites beginners to a charming Needle-Felted Pumpkins workshop, where guests will learn the cozy art of needle felting from instructor Gerry Burklow.
The class covers wool preparation, shaping, layering, and sculpting techniques using specialized felting needles, working with a variety of wool types, textures, and colors. Each participant creates an adorable 3-inch needle-felted pumpkin to take home – perfect for seasonal decor or a heartfelt handmade gift.
The workshop takes place at the Frist Learning Center Studios and is part of the magic of Cheekwood Harvest, the garden’s six-week fall festival running through November 1, when the historic 55-acre estate transforms into a seasonal wonderland. Registration is $60 for non-members and $48 for members.
Spaces fill up quickly, so craft lovers are encouraged to reserve their spot and add a handmade touch to their autumn.
