Nashville Opera is bringing one of the greatest comedies in opera history back to Music City: Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro returns to the Nashville Opera stage after a decade, on April 15 and 17, 2027, at 7:30 PM in TPAC’s Jackson Hall.
This beloved masterpiece, with a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, wraps Mozart’s most sublime melodies around a delicious story of wit, love, and comeuppance. While the clever Figaro tries to outsmart the philandering Count Almaviva, it is the brilliant Susanna and the resilient Countess who truly pull the strings to save the wedding day — a gorgeous, heart-filled romp about justice, forgiveness, and the beautiful complexity of human nature.
This new production leans into the lush, maximalist world of 18th-century “Marie Antoinette” style, promising a feast of costumes, color, and courtly drama. Dean Anthony directs, Dean Williamson conducts, and the Nashville Opera Orchestra fills Jackson Hall with the immortal score.
Sung in Italian with English supertitles, the performance runs about 2 hours and 45 minutes including intermission — perfect for first-time opera goers and longtime fans alike. Tickets are on sale now at nashvilleopera.org, and season packages for Nashville Opera’s 2026-27 season are also available.
Get ready: after ten years away, Figaro is coming home to Nashville in full Marie Antoinette splendor.
