The Sound of Music Brings Its Favorite Things to Nashville: Broadway Classic Returns to TPAC October 13–18

The hills are alive — in Nashville! Rodgers & Hammerstein’s beloved The Sound of Music is returning to Music City this October, running October 13–18, 2026 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) as the opening show of TPAC’s 2026–27 Broadway season.

This critically acclaimed North American tour, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien (Hairspray), brings the timeless story of Maria and the von Trapp family back to Nashville after roughly a decade — with all the sing-along classics: Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, Edelweiss, and of course My Favorite Things.

With its themes of love, resilience, and the power of music, it’s the perfect family plan for October: a musical that grandparents, parents, and kids can all enjoy together, on one of Nashville’s grandest stages.

Tickets are available at tpac.org. Grab the family, warm up your vocal cords, and let the music fill the hall — these are a few of Nashville’s favorite things, indeed.
