The Frist Art Museum is opening its doors even wider for Nashville’s students. Announced September 14, 2026, the museum’s free Explorer Membership is now available to eligible undergraduate college students — with no income qualification required.
Students attending a college or university in Davidson, Cheatham, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, or Wilson County — or enrolled elsewhere but living in those counties — can join at no cost with a valid student ID.
Explorer Membership brings free access to the Frist’s galleries and the interactive Martin ArtQuest space, plus discounted parking, a digital membership card, and invitations to members-only events, previews, and tours.
Launched in 2025 to expand access for Middle Tennessee residents, Explorer also remains open to households with incomes of $40,000 or less (individuals) or $80,000 or less (two-adult households). The Frist, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, is located at 919 Broadway in downtown Nashville.
