Art lovers, save your dates: the Frist Art Museum has announced its 2027 schedule of exhibitions, a dazzling lineup that will make Nashville a must-visit destination all year long.
The year opens in the Ingram Gallery with The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture, and Opulence, a major exhibition showcasing the dazzling art and vibrant culture of the Mughal era. The calendar also features French Impressionism and the Nabis from the Hays collection, Pop to Present: American Art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Splendor and Luxury: French Art Nouveau and Art Deco, the mind-bending geometry of M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations, a midcareer retrospective of Beauford Delaney, the illustrations of Jerry Pinkney, craft traditions in Through These Hands, and the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
From ancient empires to pop icons, 2027 at the Frist promises something for every kind of art lover — and another reason to visit Nashville.
The Frist is housed in a landmark 1930s art-deco building — originally Nashville’s main post office — making every visit a double experience: great art inside a work of art itself. Check the museum’s website for exhibition dates and plan your 2027 visits early.
