A Calmer Morning at the Zoo: Dallas Zoo Hosts a Sensory Friendly Morning on October 25

Families in Dallas can enjoy the zoo at a gentler pace this fall. The Dallas Zoo invites everyone to a Sensory Friendly Morning on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 8 to 11 a.m., a calm and welcoming experience designed for guests of all ages.

During the morning, the zoo keeps crowds smaller and noise levels down, so children and adults who prefer a quieter visit can explore at their own rhythm. It is part of the zoo’s popular education programs, which offer guided tours, animal encounters and themed activities in an inclusive environment where every family can feel comfortable.

Admission for the Sensory Friendly Morning is $12 for the public, and Dallas Zoo members enjoy it free. Families who love the idea can also look ahead to a Sensory Friendly Night among the lights of Dallas Zoo Lights in November.

The Dallas Zoo, at 650 S. R. L. Thornton Freeway, is the oldest and largest zoological park in Texas, home to more than 2,000 animals. A quieter morning is a lovely way to meet them.
