Dallas gets a front-row seat to aviation history this fall. Aviation Discovery Fest returns to Dallas Executive Airport on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7, 2026, hosted by the Commemorative Air Force, the nonprofit organization behind the world’s largest flying museum. It is one of the last major warbird events of the year, and a joyful way for families to start the Veterans Day season.
Visitors can walk the ramp among legendary aircraft, including the B-29 Superfortress FIFI, the B-24 Liberator Diamond Lil, B-25 Mitchell bombers, the P-51 Mustang Gunfighter and the TBM Avenger Sweet Louise. Living history reenactors, historic military vehicles and classic cars from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s complete the picture of the era, while veterans share firsthand stories that connect the machines to the people who flew and maintained them.
Kids take center stage in the Aviation Discovery Zone, with hands-on STEM activities that introduce the science of flight, and schools can join a free Education Day on Friday. Select aircraft offer cockpit tours, and rides aboard historic warbirds are available with a separate ticket. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and Friday admission is free for kids, military veterans and Commemorative Air Force Colonel members. Happy City News recommends arriving early to catch it all.
