San Antonio’s concert season is about to sparkle a little brighter. The San Antonio Philharmonic presents Overture, described as a night of celebration, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, with the experience beginning at 6 p.m.
Guests are invited into the Tobin’s Grand Lobby for a cocktail hour with an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and live jazz, before the evening continues into the H-E-B Performance Hall. There, Music Director Jeffrey Kahane leads the Philharmonic in Ravel’s beloved Bolero — one of the most thrilling slow-build masterpieces in all of orchestral music — alongside the world premiere of Fanfare San Antonio, a brand-new work by composer and bandoneon player JP Jofre, performed with the composer himself as soloist.
The celebration doesn’t end with the final note: a festive post-concert gathering follows to close the night. Tickets start at $149, with higher tiers available, and valet service is included for all guests.
Between a world premiere written for this city, Kahane on the podium and Bolero in one of Texas’s most beautiful halls, Overture shapes up as one of the brightest arts nights of San Antonio’s fall.
