Nashville is getting ready to celebrate country music at its finest! This October, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will formally welcome its 2026 class at the annual Medallion Ceremony: Tim McGraw, Paul Overstreet, and The Stanley Brothers.
Tim McGraw joins the Hall of Fame in the Modern Era Artist category. Since breaking through in 1994, the Louisiana-born singer has built one of the most beloved catalogs in country music, with more than 60 Top 10 hits and nearly 30 No. 1 singles, including timeless songs like “Live Like You Were Dying” and “Don’t Take the Girl.” He was also named CMA Entertainer of the Year in 2001.
Hit songwriter Paul Overstreet enters in the Songwriter category. Before scoring his own hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s, he penned modern country classics for stars like Randy Travis, including “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “On the Other Hand.”
The Stanley Brothers enter in the Veteran Era category. Carter and Ralph Stanley were foundational figures of bluegrass, defining the genre’s high-lonesome sound from the 1940s onward with classics like “I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow.”
During the Medallion Ceremony, bronze plaques of the 2026 inductees will be unveiled and permanently displayed in the museum’s Rotunda, joining the 158 members whose music has shaped country music around the world. If you are in Nashville this fall, there is no better time to visit the Hall of Fame and walk through decades of country music history.
