Dallas is about to make dinosaur history! The Perot Museum of Nature and Science has announced it will be the first museum in North America to host the international tour of The March of the Triceratops, an immersive exhibition opening exclusively in Dallas in July 2027.
At the heart of the exhibition are five extraordinary Triceratops fossil skeletons from the only known herd ever discovered. Together they bring more than 1,200 bones and fossil fragments to Texas, all of them Triceratops horridus found together in a single rock layer near Newcastle, Wyoming, in a Late Cretaceous rock unit called the Lance Formation. These plant-eating giants roamed the earth around 66 million years ago, and seeing five of them side by side offers a rare window into how they may have lived.
Developed by Naturalis Biodiversity Center in the Netherlands and toured in partnership with MuseumsPartner, the exhibition surrounds the authentic fossils with soundscapes, animations, augmented reality and life-size models, including a true-to-size female Triceratops and an animatronic that will delight visitors of all ages.
Mark the calendar: July 2027 will bring a dinosaur experience Dallas has never seen. This is one march you will not want to miss!
