Everything’s bigger in Texas — and this year, the State Fair of Texas is celebrating the biggest birthday of all: America’s 250th!
The 2026 State Fair is dedicating its 277-acre Fair Park to the nation’s 250th birthday across all 24 days of the fair, which runs through October 18. The celebration kicked off in spectacular fashion with the Opening Day Ceremony on the Hall of State steps: after the national anthem, an America 250 flyover roared overhead with a B-52 Stratofortress, two F-35 Lightning IIs, and an A-10 Thunderbolt II, followed by an Air Force enlistment oath.
New patriotic attractions fill the fairgrounds all 24 days: the Freedom250 Mobile Education Truck, the D.A.R. House exhibit ‘Revolutionary Women,’ free daily ‘Whitman on Walls!’ screenings at the Music Hall, and the Creative Arts Building’s ‘United We Can’ flag display built from hundreds of canned jars.
With live performances, classic fair treats, and 24 days of red, white, and blue pride, this year’s State Fair of Texas is more than a fair — it’s a birthday party 250 years in the making. Don’t miss it!
