The Muny is investing in its next hundred summers. A $9.5 million renovation is now underway at the Forest Park amphitheatre ā replacing all of its seats with more comfortable modern designs (cupholders included), rebuilding drainage after the damaging flash floods of 2022, and renewing the sound and terrace infrastructure of America’s largest outdoor musical theatre.
Sentimentalists, take note: a limited number of the Muny’s retired fold-down seats have been offered to fans as keepsakes, and the 2027 season lineup ā the first to enjoy the upgrades ā will be announced on December 2, with a special Muny evening from Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown at The Sheldon on December 17.
Season 109 is shaping up as a homecoming with better chairs.
The Muny is at 1 Theatre Drive in Forest Park. News and tickets at muny.org.
