Daniil Trifonov Plays Rachmaninoff with the SLSO, November 6–8

The most electrifying pianist alive meets the orchestra he keeps coming back to. Daniil Trifonov joins Music Director Stéphane Denève and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra at Powell Hall November 6–8, 2026, for Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1 — the youthful showpiece Trifonov was born to ignite.

Denève frames the weekend in Russian fire: Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, the ‘Pathétique,’ closes the program, with Michael Tilson Thomas’s ‘Agnegram’ as the opener. It is the kind of big-hearted programming that has defined the Denève era — and with the SLSO Chorus’s golden anniversary season underway, Powell Hall is having a year.

Three performances only; the Sunday matinee is the family’s golden ticket.

Powell Hall is at 718 North Grand Boulevard. Tickets at slso.org.
