‘Art in Bloom’ Returns to SLAM: Flowers Meet Masterpieces

For one beloved weekend each year, the Saint Louis Art Museum smells as beautiful as it looks. ‘Art in Bloom,’ the museum’s festival of flowers, pairs the region’s most talented floral designers with works from SLAM’s collection — each arrangement an interpretation in petals and stems of a painting, sculpture or object nearby.

The 2027 edition is already taking shape: the museum opened applications to St. Louis-area florists this fall (due November 1), and the festival will fill the galleries with demonstrations, talks and dozens of fragrant one-weekend-only creations. It is the museum’s most joyful collision of art forms — and one of its most popular weekends, drawing crowds that move slowly, phones down, noses first.

Watch slam.org for the 2027 dates and designer lineup — and plan to arrive early.

Art in Bloom is at the Saint Louis Art Museum, 1 Fine Arts Drive in Forest Park.
