‘Yours Forever: Forest Park at 150’ at the Missouri History Museum

Opened on June 24, 1876, Forest Park turns 150 in 2026 — and the Missouri History Museum is throwing the exhibition. ‘Yours Forever: Forest Park at 150,’ the atrium exhibition at the museum that itself stands in the park, celebrates the century and a half in which St. Louis’s great green room hosted a World’s Fair, an Olympics, and the daily life of a city.

The show threads the park’s whole biography: carved out of forest in the 1870s, transformed in 1904, beloved through the car era, and restored in our time by the city and Forest Park Forever into what many call America’s best urban park. Vintage photographs and objects from the museum’s collections do the time traveling.

See the show, then walk out the door and into the exhibit itself.

‘Yours Forever’ is at the Missouri History Museum, 5700 Lindell Boulevard. Free admission; details at mohistory.org.
