Here is a magical new way to experience the Seattle Aquarium: the new Above the Reef tour takes guests behind the scenes of the Ocean Pavilion, where animal care experts feed sharks, rays, moray eels and schooling fish every morning.
Participants watch the feeding from a vantage point normally reserved for staff, peek into the food-preparation area, and learn exactly what it takes to keep the habitat’s animals healthy and thriving. General admission to the Aquarium on the day of the visit is included, so the fun continues after the tour.
It is a family-friendly adventure — open to guests ages 6 and older — and a wonderful chance to meet the people who care for these remarkable ocean animals every day.
Tours run every Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Seattle Aquarium, 1483 Alaskan Way, Pier 59. Advance booking is recommended through the Aquarium’s official website, seattleaquarium.org.
