San Francisco’s creative spirit is on full display this October! The 52nd annual San Francisco Open Studios, organized by the nonprofit ArtSpan, is inviting the public to step inside the city’s artists’ creative spaces and see exactly where the magic happens.
This beloved San Francisco tradition, going strong since 1975, sends art lovers on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood adventure across the city. Studios open to the public over consecutive weekends, offering a free and unforgettable chance to meet hundreds of local artists, watch them work, hear the stories behind their pieces, and even purchase original artwork directly from the makers.
Whether you’re discovering an emerging painter in Dogpatch or chatting with a sculptor in a historic warehouse, every visit is a reminder of the vibrant, inclusive arts community that makes San Francisco so special. No art expertise required — just bring your curiosity and fall in love with art all over again.
The celebration runs through October 25, 2026. Admission is free, so grab a friend and plan your weekend studio visits!
