October is officially the happiest month to be a kid in San Diego! The 15th annual Kids Free San Diego celebration is in full swing, turning America’s Finest City into one big playground for families through October 31.
The idea is simple and wonderful: all month long, children eat, stay and play for free at more than 100 participating attractions, museums, hotels and restaurants across the county. At the world-famous San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park, one adult with a valid admission can bring up to six kids ages 11 and younger for free — hello, pandas, elephants and all your wild friends!
The San Diego Museum Council is joining the fun too, with free admission for kids at more than 70 regional museums in San Diego and Tijuana — art, science, history and aquariums, all waiting to be explored. And that’s not all: hotels, restaurants, harbor cruises and even theme parks are rolling out special family perks.
The San Diego Tourism Authority estimates families can save up to $1,000 on a visit by stacking the offers. So pack the snacks, grab the kids and make some memories — October in San Diego has never been this sweet.
