A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… the Force is landing in Philadelphia. The Franklin Institute has announced the world premiere of “Star Wars: The Experience – A Journey Through the Galaxy,” the official exhibition celebrating 50 years of Star Wars, opening February 13, 2027 at 222 North 20th Street.
Created with MDSX, Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products, the exhibition transforms 18,000 square feet of galleries into an interactive adventure powered by RFID technology. More than 70 artifacts — many never displayed to the public before — will fill the space, including Darth Maul’s lightsaber, Darth Vader’s iconic costume, Grogu, R2-D2, C-3PO, a speeder bike and original props from the acclaimed series Andor.
As a nonprofit science institution, The Franklin Institute is the perfect launchpad for this galaxy-sized celebration: a place where curiosity, imagination and hands-on discovery already live side by side. Families, fans and Padawans of all ages will be able to journey through the saga’s most unforgettable moments — and maybe discover the scientist within.
The countdown to February has officially begun. Philadelphia, may the Force be with you.
