The Philadelphia Orchestra Brings Harry Potter’s Magic to the Kimmel Center with Live Film Concert

Get your wands ready, Philadelphia: the wizarding world is coming to the Kimmel Center in spectacular fashion. From October 16 to 18, The Philadelphia Orchestra will perform the complete score of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban live while the beloved film plays on a giant screen in high definition.

Under the baton of conductor Justin Freer, and joined by the acclaimed Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia led by Artistic Director Dominick DiOrio, the orchestra will bring John Williams’ enchanting music to life in full symphonic power. From the mischievous themes of the Marauder’s Map to the soaring emotion of the Patronus Charm, every note will sweep audiences straight into the heart of Hogwarts.

Performances take place at Marian Anderson Hall inside the Kimmel Center, at 300 S. Broad Street, with shows at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. The experience runs about three hours, including intermission, making it a perfect family outing or a magical date night.

Film-in-concert programs have become a beloved tradition for fans of all ages, blending the thrill of the movies with the grandeur of a world-class symphony. Tickets are available through the Philadelphia Orchestra’s official channels.
