The birthplace of the nation is not done celebrating: Visit Philadelphia’s new fall-and-winter guide rounds up 10 ways to keep America’s 250th anniversary going now that autumn has arrived.
Headliners include The Declaration’s Journey at the Museum of the American Revolution (through January 3, 2027), a sweeping exhibition of rare documents, art, and artifacts tracing the Declaration of Independence’s history and its global influence from 1776 to today. At the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, The First Salute (through April 2027) tells the story of the 1776 cannon salute from St. Eustatius that became the first international recognition of the United States.
Also on the list: These Truths: The Declarations of Independence at the American Philosophical Society (through January 3, 2027), and Eastern State Penitentiary’s yearlong A Time for Liberty series. The yearlong “52 Weeks of Firsts” keeps spotlighting Philadelphia-born breakthroughs with free Saturday Firstivals, family activities, and storytellers across the city.
Philadelphia spent the first half of 2026 earning national praise — even The Boston Globe declared “Sorry, Boston” — and the celebration keeps rolling into winter.
