LACMA Unveils a Dazzling Fall 2026–27 Exhibition Season

Art lovers, mark your calendars: the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has just unveiled its advance exhibition schedule for Fall 2026 through Winter 2027, and the season ahead is packed with imagination, craft, and big ideas.

The season opens with ‘Textile Alchemy: The Art of Reiko Sudō and NUNO’ (September 20, 2026 to March 7, 2027), the largest retrospective to date of the acclaimed Japanese textile designer, featuring more than 100 limited-edition textiles created with her collective NUNO alongside drawings, tools, and prototypes that reveal how tradition, technology, and sustainability weave together.

Just a week later comes ‘Home of the Future, 1925–1985: Designing Domestic Utopias’ (September 27, 2026 to March 14, 2027), a fascinating look at how Americans dreamed about tomorrow’s home, from self-cleaning kitchens to desktop computers, told through models, films, photographs, and objects.

The winter brings even more: ‘The Brockman Gallery: Los Angeles, 1967–1990’ (October 18, 2026 to January 24, 2027) celebrates a landmark Black-owned Los Angeles gallery; ‘Paul R. Williams: Architect for Living’ (November 15, 2026 to May 31, 2027) honors the pioneering Black architect who shaped the city’s skyline; and ‘Roberto Gil de Montes: Water Drops on Burning Rocks’ (December 20, 2026 to June 20, 2027) showcases the beloved Los Angeles painter. ‘The Kitchen and Its Discontents’ rounds out the season with a playful, provocative look at the heart of the home.

With a full season of world-class exhibitions on the horizon, this is the perfect time to plan your visit and fall in love with LACMA all over again.
