Dallas, get ready for one of the greatest traditions in college football. This Saturday, October 10, the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners face off in the 97th Red River Rivalry at Cotton Bowl Stadium, right in the middle of the State Fair of Texas.
Played at the Fair since 1929, this neutral-site showdown has turned into a full-day celebration. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. Central Time, and fans are encouraged to arrive early to soak in both the game and the Fair. The best part? Your game ticket includes admission to the State Fair of Texas, so you can enjoy the Midway, the exhibits, and your favorite Fair foods before heading into the stadium.
The Fair opens early on game day: parking lots and admission gates open at 7:00 a.m., the Midway opens at 8:00 a.m., and exhibit buildings open at 9:00 a.m. Cotton Bowl Stadium gates open at 11:30 a.m. for pre-game excitement. The stadium has also completed phase one of its renovations, bringing new improvements to the fan experience.
Plan to arrive early, download your tickets to your phone ahead of time, and allow extra time for traffic, parking, and security screenings at both the Fair and the stadium. Happy City News wishes both teams a great game, and Fair Park a weekend to remember!
