Dallas Gourd Patch Brings Weekly Squash Art Demos to the Dallas Arboretum

There is something truly special happening every Thursday at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden: the Dallas Gourd Patch returns with weekly displays and demos of spectacular squash art, right in the Main Entry Plaza.

Visitors can watch talented artists demonstrate how humble gourds are transformed into beautiful jewelry and decorative homewares, each piece handcrafted with remarkable detail. From painted vases and hanging ornaments to intricate sculptures, every creation shows just how much beauty hides inside an ordinary garden harvest.

The best part? The artists’ one-of-a-kind pieces are available for guests to purchase, making it the perfect stop to find a unique, handmade treasure for your home or a thoughtful gift for someone special.

These weekly demos run Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and they are included with regular garden admission, so come wander the fall gardens, enjoy the crisp autumn air, and watch gourds turn into works of art.
