Dallas Lights Up the Holidays: Klyde Warren Park’s Free Tree Lighting Celebration Returns December 5

Dallas families have a joyful date to circle on the calendar. Klyde Warren Park will host its Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m., a free annual tradition that officially welcomes the holiday season in the heart of the city.

Presented by H-E-B/Central Market, the celebration fills the park with a festive afternoon of activities and entertainment for all ages. Families can arrive early, enjoy the lively atmosphere with neighbors and visitors, and gather together as the afternoon builds toward the moment everyone is waiting for.

That big moment is the annual lighting of The Mayor’s Tree. As the tree lights up, the park turns into a glowing holiday gathering place, perfect for family photos, warm memories and an easy, happy start to December in Dallas.

Because the event is free and beloved, Happy City News recommends planning ahead: come early to find a good spot, dress for a December evening outdoors, and make a full family outing of it in downtown Dallas. One afternoon, one great tree, and a whole park full of holiday cheer.
