Pilobolus Brings ‘Trips,’ a Gravity-Defying Dance Voyage, to Dallas Nov. 6-7

Dallas gets a visit from the original rule-breakers of dance this fall. Pilobolus, the company that turns human bodies into sculptures, landscapes and whole galaxies, returns to Moody Performance Hall on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., presented by TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND as part of the AT&T Performing Arts Center season.

The program is called Trips, and it lives up to its name. Led by an intergalactic captain, the dancers take audiences on one seamless voyage from the skies to the soul and on to galaxies beyond. Each piece flows straight into the next, mixing explosive athleticism, physical poetry and sly humor — one moment gravity-defying, the next quietly emotional, and always impossible to predict.

Pilobolus began with three college students — Moses Pendleton, an English literature lover and cross-country skier; Jonathan Wolken, a philosophy and science scholar who also fenced; and Steve Johnson, a pre-med student and pole vaulter. From that unlikely start grew a legacy of movement and imagination that dance lovers around the world now celebrate, and that has been honoured as an “Irreplaceable Dance Treasure.”

Best of all, this is a night the whole family can share: the performance is family-friendly and appropriate for ages 4 and up. Moody Performance Hall is at 2520 Flora Street in the Dallas Arts District.
