Climb, Splash and Create: A Family Day at Boston Children’s Museum

On the Fort Point Channel waterfront, Boston Children’s Museum has been perfecting childhood since 1913. Its three-story New Balance Foundation Climb turns the lobby into a rope-and-platform adventure, Arthur’s World brings the beloved aardvark’s neighborhood to life, and the Japanese House – a real townhouse transported from Kyoto – gives kids a quiet, fascinating world to explore barefoot.

Water play, construction zones, a Peep’s World of science for little learners and daily programs in art and music round out a museum built for ages 0-10 and their grown-ups. Look for the giant Hood milk bottle outside – it’s been the museum’s delicious landmark for generations.
