The oldest house in downtown Boston – built around 1680 – was home to a silversmith with twelve children and one very famous midnight ride. The Paul Revere House in the North End lets families step into snug colonial rooms, hear costumed guides tell the real story behind the poem (it was more teamwork, less solo hero) and handle reproduction objects that bring 1775 to small hands.
It’s compact, inexpensive and right in Boston’s Little Italy, so cannoli is a legitimate part of the history lesson. For kids meeting the Revolution for the first time, there’s no warmer doorway than the patriot’s own front step.
