At the edge of the MIT campus in Cambridge, the MIT Museum shows families where the future is being prototyped: galleries of famous robots, kinetic sculptures that whirl and ponder, holograms, and exhibitions on everything from artificial intelligence to the engineering of the deep sea. Hands-on maker activities and family programs run through the year.
It’s best for school-age kids and teens, who leave half-convinced they’ll invent something by dinner. Pair it with a walk through MIT’s Infinite Corridor and the Great Dome – the campus itself is half the exhibit.
