Los Angeles families have a perfect reason to head to Exposition Park on Sunday, November 22, when the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County hosts STEAM Family Day, a one-day celebration of science, technology, engineering, arts and math designed for young people ages 8 to 18.
During the day, children and teenagers can roll up their sleeves for hands-on STEAM and craft activities, meet real scientists and STEAM professionals, and start imagining future career paths in a fun, welcoming and engaging way. The museum says all children are welcome, and the idea is simple: curiosity leads the way, whether a young visitor loves dinosaurs, gems, nature or building things with their own hands.
STEAM Family Day is part of the museum’s broader STEAM Family Programs, which also include a STEAM Teen Club running on alternate Saturdays this fall. Between the museum’s famous Dinosaur Hall, its sparkling Gem and Mineral Hall and the green Nature Gardens outside, families can easily turn the visit into a full day of discovery in the heart of Los Angeles.
Happy City News recommends arriving early, bringing questions, and letting the youngest explorers choose the first activity. It is joyful, hands-on learning at one of the city’s most beloved museums.
