Orlando families have a cheerful date to circle on the calendar. The Mayor’s Family Fun Day, the centerpiece of Orange County’s Week of the Family, takes over Barnett Park on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a morning built entirely around playing, learning and spending time together.
The free celebration promises family fun activities, live performances, community resources and giveaways, all in one of west Orlando’s favorite green spaces. During the event, Mayor Jerry Demings will present the Week of the Family Essay Award, honoring local students who wrote about what family means to them — a sweet moment that captures the spirit of the whole week, which celebrates strong, happy and united families across Orange County.
Barnett Park, at 4801 W. Colonial Drive, is a perfect host for a family morning. The 159-acre county park offers playgrounds, a splash pad, picnic areas, sports courts, disc golf and wide open lawns, so families can stay and play long after the program ends. Pack a picnic, bring the kids and make a full day of it.
Admission to the Mayor’s Family Fun Day is free. For more information, call (407) 836-1584 or visit WeekoftheFamily.org.
