Baltimore has a cheerful invitation to step inside its working past — and get a first look at its future. The Baltimore Museum of Industry, the beloved Inner Harbor museum at 1415 Key Highway, is presenting Reimagine: The Campaign for Growth, a special exhibition in its Decker Gallery that shares the museum’s plans for growth, including new exhibitions, a reimagined campus, and new outdoor green space.
Admission to the exhibition is included with regular museum admission — $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $8 for students ages 3 to 26, and free for children under 3. Even better, admission to the first-floor Markell and Damidot galleries is always free, making it easy to stop in and explore.
The timing could not be better for a family visit. The museum’s Bethlehem Steel legacy, its cannery, garment-loft, print-shop and machine-shop galleries, and its hands-on programs for students keep Baltimore’s story of work and invention lively and welcoming. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with activities throughout each week.
Happy City News invites readers to see the plans up close, enjoy the galleries, and imagine the greener, more welcoming museum taking shape on the harbor.
