Costume Carnival Returns to Washington, D.C. with Free Family Halloween Fun on October 30

Grab your costumes, Washington, D.C. — Costume Carnival is back! Events DC is throwing a fun-filled, FREE family Halloween celebration on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gateway Pavilion at St. Elizabeths East.

The evening is packed with music, festive activities and plenty of spooky spirit. Kids of all ages are invited to dress up as their favorite characters and show off their looks in the costume contest for an exciting chance to win. Community partners will decorate their booths and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, and food, activities and giveaways are all free on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The open-air pavilion on the historic St. Elizabeths campus makes a beautiful backdrop for a night of family-friendly fun — and since the event is completely free, the whole family can join. Don’t miss one of the happiest Halloween traditions in the District!
