YouTube Stars Rhett & Link Land a Spot at the Smithsonian: “Good Mythical Morning” Display Opens October 22

From YouTube screens to Smithsonian display cases! The National Museum of American History is giving internet royalty its flowers this fall: the beloved duo Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal — better known as Rhett & Link, the hosts of “Good Mythical Morning” — are taking their place in entertainment history.

Starting October 22, fans can see the actual objects that built a YouTube legend: the original desk microphone that topped the “Good Mythical Morning” desk since the show’s very first episode in 2012, plus the two blindfolds Rhett & Link famously wore during their outrageous taste tests and food challenges. The display sits just outside “Entertainment Nation” on the museum’s Third Floor, West.

And they are in legendary company! These new treasures join the museum’s entertainment collection alongside Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers, Mr. Rogers’ sweater, Prince’s yellow guitar and Christopher Reeve’s original Superman costume. After more than 2,600 episodes and over 33 million subscribers, Rhett & Link have officially become museum-worthy — a true milestone for the creator generation.

The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Constitution Avenue NW, and admission is free — so grab the family and come celebrate internet history in the nation’s capital!
