Kermit as Bob Cratchit, Michael Caine as Scrooge, and a full symphony orchestra under the screen: ‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’ in Concert returns to Powell Hall with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performing the score live on Saturday, December 12, and Sunday, December 13, 2026.
Film-with-orchestra nights are the SLSO’s merriest tradition — the 1992 Muppet classic unspooling above the stage while every sleigh bell and carol lands live in Powell Hall’s famous acoustic. It is the rare holiday event that plays equally to six-year-olds and their grandparents, and the Sunday matinee makes an ideal first ‘concert hall’ memory.
Costumes and Christmas sweaters are not required, merely inevitable.
‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’ in Concert is at Powell Hall, 718 North Grand Boulevard. Tickets at slso.org.
