Every St. Louis childhood deserves one perfect first planetarium show, and the McDonnell Planetarium has been providing it for generations. ‘The Little Star That Could’ ā now reimagined in immersive 360-degree visuals with the planetarium’s grand reopening ā follows a little yellow star searching the solar system for planets of its own.
Along the way, young audiences meet stars of every color, size and temperature, learn what makes each special, and tour our planetary neighborhood at exactly a five-year-old’s pace. The show runs daily in the Orthwein StarBay alongside family-friendly live sky tours, and at member-free, everyone-cheap prices it is the best first ‘big kid’ outing in Forest Park.
Pair it with the Science Center’s galleries across the skybridge and make a whole day of wonder.
The McDonnell Planetarium is at the Saint Louis Science Center in Forest Park. Showtimes at slsc.org.
