San Diego is soccer city right now — and the Wave just gave fans another reason to celebrate. San Diego Wave FC clinched its 2026 NWSL playoff berth with a thrilling 2-1 win over the Orlando Pride on October 2, powered by goals from rookie Lia Godfrey and Gia Corley.
It’s the club’s fourth playoff appearance in just five seasons, capped off with a club-record 16 wins and 51 points. The Wave has been one of the league’s most exciting stories all year, playing bold, attacking soccer in front of some of the most passionate fans in the NWSL.
And the party continues: the playoff run rolls on with Military Appreciation Night on October 25, a special evening honoring San Diego’s military community. If you haven’t experienced a Wave matchday yet, this is the perfect time — electric atmosphere, world-class soccer, and a team playing with pure joy.
