Fly Alongside Migrating Birds: ‘Wings Over Water’ Lands on the Fleet Science Center’s Giant Dome

San Diego families have a brand-new reason to look up this weekend: Wings Over Water, the breathtaking giant-screen documentary narrated by Michael Keaton, premieres Saturday, October 10, on the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater screen at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park.

The film takes audiences soaring over North America’s heartland, a vast kingdom of connected rivers, lakes, and waterways that has given wildlife an oasis since the retreat of the last ice age more than 10,000 years ago. Viewers fly side by side with three magnificent migratory birds: the elegant Sandhill Crane, the tiny but mighty Yellow Warbler, and the beloved Mallard Duck, following their epic journeys along the continent’s ancient flyways.

Brought to life with extraordinary large-format footage, the documentary reveals one of North America’s most diverse and untouched ecosystems, home to countless species and millions of frequent fliers that depend on these pristine wetlands for survival. It is a celebration of nature at its most awe-inspiring, perfect for kids and grown-ups alike.

Wings Over Water screens today at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., and continues through October 24. Best of all, one documentary film is included with every Fleet Experience admission ticket, so the sky is the limit for your next family outing in Balboa Park.
