Music, glamour, and a great cause are coming together in downtown San Diego! The San Diego Symphony is preparing its signature annual gala, AMPLIFY: A Gala Evening, on Saturday, November 21, at the newly reimagined Jacobs Music Center — and the lineup is pure star power.
Headlining the evening are internationally acclaimed singer Isabel Leonard and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jason Mraz, who will perform together with the San Diego Symphony under the direction of Music and Artistic Director Rafael Payare. Created exclusively for AMPLIFY, the one-night-only concert promises an intimate and unforgettable musical experience that guests can enjoy only on this special evening.
The celebration begins at 5:00 PM with an elegant cocktail reception featuring handcrafted cocktails and exceptional hors d’oeuvres created by celebrity chef Richard Blais. After the concert at 6:30 PM, guests will enjoy a multi-course dinner prepared by Urban Kitchen Group, led by Tracy Borkum, followed by the AMPLIFY After Party at 9:30 PM — music, dancing, and celebration late into the night.
This year’s gala honors Raffaella Belanich and Dorothea Laub, whose generosity and vision helped make transformative Symphony projects possible, including The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park and the reimagined Jacobs Music Center.
Proceeds from AMPLIFY support the Symphony’s artistic, educational, and community programs — expanding access to music and amplifying its impact across San Diego for generations to come. California’s oldest orchestra keeps giving the city new reasons to celebrate!
