The Pittsburgh Symphony: An American Orchestra at the Top of Its Game

Founded in 1896, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has spent 130 years becoming one of the world’s great orchestras — and under Music Director Manfred Honeck, it is playing at a level that fills Heinz Hall and wins Grammy Awards. Its recordings are reference editions; its European tours sell out; its home audiences know they’re hearing something special.

The PSO’s season runs September through June at Heinz Hall in the Cultural District: BNY Classics weekends of the great repertoire, PNC Pops celebrations, PSO at the Movies film concerts and FUSE mash-up nights aimed at new audiences. Education programs — from school concerts to the student ticket programs — keep the pipeline of listeners flowing.

Single tickets for the 2026–27 season are on sale at pittsburghsymphony.org. If you have never heard this orchestra in Heinz Hall, fix that this season: start with a Classics weekend and thank us later.
