MCG Jazz: Pittsburgh’s Hidden-Gem Concert Hall at Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild

Ask Pittsburgh jazz lovers for the best room in town and many will whisper the same answer: MCG Jazz. The concert series of Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild — the East Side education nonprofit founded by artist Bill Strickland — presents the world’s great jazz artists in an intimate, acoustically beloved hall, and its 2026–27 season is rolling now (guitar great John Scofield brings his ‘Electrospective’ on November 20, 2026).

MCG is more than a venue: jazz legends record live albums in its hall, students in MCG’s arts programs learn steps from the stage, and the series’ archives chronicle decades of jazz history made in Pittsburgh. Every ticket supports the Guild’s youth arts education.

MCG Jazz is at 1815 Metropolitan Street in Manchester, on the North Side. The season schedule and tickets are at mcgjazz.org — small room, big nights.
