Philadelphia is about to travel back to the glittering Jazz Age! The Great Gatsby, the Broadway musical sensation adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s beloved novel, sweeps into the historic Academy of Music from October 20 through November 1, 2026, as part of the Ensemble Arts Philly Broadway Series.
The story of Jay Gatsby, his lavish Long Island parties, and his timeless pursuit of Daisy Buchanan comes alive with dazzling costumes, show-stopping numbers, and all the champagne-soaked glamour of the Roaring Twenties. It’s a night of theater that feels like stepping straight into a grand Gatsby party.
The Academy of Music, at 240 S. Broad Street, is the perfect setting for this spectacular: opened in 1857, it is the oldest opera house in the United States still used for its original purpose, and its gilded grandeur pairs beautifully with the Jazz Age world on stage.
Performances run for two weeks only, including weekend matinees, so theater lovers, book lovers, and anyone looking for a magical night out should plan ahead. Get ready to say “old sport” and step into the roaring 2020s, Philadelphia style!
Tickets are available through the Ensemble Arts Philly website.
