The curtain rises on a brand-new opera season in Nashville this week. Nashville Opera opens its 2026-27 season with Puccini’s thrilling masterpiece Tosca, playing Thursday, October 8 and Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in Jackson Hall at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
Set in 1800s Rome, Tosca is one of the most beloved operas in the world: a fast-paced story of passion, intrigue and courage, told through some of the most soaring music ever written. The legendary singer Floria Tosca must outwit the sinister police chief Scarpia to save the man she loves, in a tale that races toward one of opera’s most famous finales.
Guests will enjoy stunning hand-painted traditional sets that transport the audience to another time and place, plus live, unamplified performances by world-class artists and the Nashville Opera Orchestra. The opera is sung in Italian with English supertitles, so every word of the story is easy to follow.
Tosca is the first of three very different productions this season, under the theme “Come Curious, Leave Changed.” Tickets are on sale now through TPAC for both performances.
