American Currents Brings Country Music’s Biggest Year to Life at the Country Music Hall of Fame

Nashville is celebrating the sound of right now at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, where American Currents: State of the Music is now open in the ACM Gallery. This joyful annual exhibition takes a broad, upbeat look at country music and its place in American culture over the past year, exploring new musical directions, artist achievements and notable moments, from cozy clubs to cavernous arenas.

The gallery is packed with real treasures fans can see up close. Highlights photographed by the museum include Sierra Ferrell’s Grammy gown, Vince Gill’s guitars, Tyler Childers’ stage outfit, Tammy Wynette’s outfit, Ringo Starr’s hat, Morgan Wallen’s jumpsuit and Ella Langley’s ACM gown. In all, the exhibition recognizes dozens of beloved names, including Luke Combs, Charley Crockett, Alison Brown and Steve Martin, Cody Johnson, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Billy Strings, Lainey Wilson, Farm Aid and the Grand Ole Opry.

It is a happy, easy way to spend an hour or an afternoon downtown, whether you are a lifelong country fan or discovering Music City for the first time. The exhibition runs through January 2027 at the museum, 222 Rep. John Lewis Way S, so there is still time to plan a visit this fall or during the holidays and see the year’s biggest stories told through the music itself.
