Mother Goose Brings Nursery Rhymes to Life for Nashville’s Littlest Audiences

Nashville’s tiniest theatregoers are in for pure magic. Mother Goose is fluttering onto the stage at Nashville Children’s Theatre, and she’s inviting babies and preschoolers into her wonderfully silly world for one giggle-filled adventure after another.

Written by Janet Stanford, this laugh-out-loud show follows Mother Goose through a typical day — except nothing about her day is typical. Along the way, little ones get to jump right into the stories behind her most beloved nursery rhymes, clapping, singing, and joining in as each classic rhyme comes alive around them. The gentle lesson woven through every rhyme? That the very best way to get things done is to do them together.

Mother Goose is part of NCT’s Snuggery Series, created especially for children ages 0 to 5. Every Snuggery show is an interactive, immersive experience designed around early childhood development — nurturing creativity, imagination, and the cognitive, social, and emotional growth that lays the foundation for a lifelong love of the arts.

As the country’s oldest youth-centered professional theatre, Nashville Children’s Theatre has been delighting young audiences for more than 90 years. Mother Goose runs through October 25, 2026 — the perfect fall outing for families with little ones ready for their first big theatrical adventure.
