Las Vegas has a farm in the middle of the desert, and fall is its happiest season. Gilcrease Orchard, a historic Las Vegas landmark at 7800 North Tenaya Way in the northwest valley, is celebrating its Fall Harvest through October 31, inviting visitors to pick their own produce straight from the field.
This is no traditional farmers market. Across its green rows and orchards, guests stroll through a pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin for carving or decorating, wander a corn maze, and hop aboard a scenic wagon ride. Between activities, you can harvest farm-fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables and taste locally grown goodness at its peak, a side of Las Vegas that surprises first-time visitors.
Fall Harvest hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., making an early morning visit the sweet spot before the desert sun warms up. Tickets are required to enter during Fall Harvest and popular weekend dates sell out, so booking ahead on the orchard’s official website is strongly recommended.
Run by a nonprofit foundation dedicated to preserving this agricultural treasure, Gilcrease Orchard has welcomed Las Vegas families for generations. Bring a hat, comfortable shoes and a camera: pumpkin season in the desert only lasts a few more days.
