The Neon Museum Will Light the First Las Vegas Grand Prix Sign on October 26

A piece of racing history is about to glow again. The Neon Museum will unveil and illuminate the sign from the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix of 2023 during a special ceremony on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 6 p.m., making it the newest addition to the museum’s celebrated collection.

The sign, first displayed during that inaugural 2023 race, commemorates a defining moment in the city’s growing sports and entertainment legacy. The lighting serves as the grand finale of Duck Duck Shed, the museum’s fourth annual citywide celebration of Las Vegas history, architecture and design, running October 23 to 26. Guests at the ceremony can also get an up-close look at a Formula 1 show car under the desert sky. Tickets for the October 26 ceremony are $35 through the museum.

The museum is also inviting the public to help preserve that first race weekend: it is collecting memorabilia from the 2023 Grand Prix — ticket stubs, programs, uniforms and gear — for its collection. Donation details are on the museum’s website, under donating artifacts.

The Neon Museum, home of the Neon Boneyard, is at 770 Las Vegas Boulevard North. On October 26, Vegas history adds a little speed.
