Fall has officially landed in downtown Houston, and it is wearing orange! The Houston Pumpkin Festival has transformed Discovery Green into a dazzling harvest wonderland, open through November 8, 2026. From the moment you arrive, the park glows with thousands of pumpkins and gourds in every color, stacked into vibrant displays and photo-ready vignettes against the glittering city skyline.
This is no ordinary pumpkin patch. Thrill-seekers can bounce across the giant inflatable Jumpkin’ Pumpkin, race down a 30-foot slide, and climb aboard bumper boats on Kinder Lake. Little ones will love the carousel, Cinderella’s Carriage, the Mary Poppins Experience, and a winding hay maze, while everyone can dig into the corn pit, strike a pose at the Doors of Wonder and the Giant Pin Art wall, or snap a selfie beneath the famous pink trees of lights.
Food trucks line the pathways with seasonal treats, making it just as easy to plan a cozy date night or an outing with friends as it is to bring the whole family. The festival runs Monday through Thursday from 3 to 11 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at discoverygreen.com, and spots fill fast on weekends, so plan ahead.
Whether you come for the rides, the flavors, or simply to wander through a sea of pumpkins in the heart of the city, the Houston Pumpkin Festival is the happiest way to celebrate autumn in Texas.
