‘Home for the Holidays’: The DSO’s Christmas Tradition Returns December 11–13

It’s not the holiday season in Detroit until the DSO says so. Home for the Holidays, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s beloved Christmas pops celebration, returns to Orchestra Hall December 11–13, 2026, with carols, classics and sing-alongs under the hall’s golden glow.

The annual tradition fills the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center with families in their holiday best, guest vocalists and the cozy feeling of a whole city singing together. Santa sightings in the lobby are not guaranteed — but they’ve been known to happen.

Performances are Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m., 3711 Woodward Avenue. These concerts sell out every year; book early at dso.org.
